The Ministry of Interior (MoI) of the UAE has banned all drone operations and flying of light sports crafts in the United Arab Emirates. The Ministry of Interiors has stopped the flying operations of owners, practitioners and enthusiasts of drones in line with the General Authority for Civil Aviation. The ban came into force on January 22, 2022. According to the latest notification issued by the Ministry of Interior, companies having contracts or commercial/advertising projects and relying on filming using drones must receive an exemption from the ban by approaching the permit authorities in the country for permits to carry out their work.
