How to Apply for a Drone Filming Permit in Dubai?

In Dubai, Drone Filming is monitored and regulated by the Dubai Civil Aviation Department (DCAA). 

Procedure:

The Drone operators must submit the flight plans to the DCAA two weeks in advance.

The client will have to provide a Letter of Consent and a No Objection Certificate from the property owner for clearing the paperwork.  

Permitting Authorities:

  • Ministry of Defense, Dubai
  • Dubai Civil Aviation Department
  • Dubai Film and TV Commission (DFTC)

An online facility is available to get the permit from the above authorities. It may take 12 to 14 days to complete the same. 

How to Apply for Drone Filming Permits in Abu Dhabi and other parts of the UAE?

General Civil Aviation Department (GCAA) is the regulatory authority that issues Drone Filming Permits in Abu Dhabi and other parts of the UAE.

  • When to start the process?
    Submit flight plans at least two weeks in advance.

Permitting Authorities:

  • General Civil Aviation Authority
  • Ministry of Defense
  • Abu Dhabi Police (No Objection Certification)

It may take 12 to 14 days to complete the process.

No-Fly Zones 

Drone flying is banned by GCAA and DCAA near, over and around the airports. The Authorities have initiated the restriction to avoid any disruption to the movement of aircraft in the area.
